Video - The way Triggers build
I promised a little video blog about my philosophy on migraine treatment so here is the link. It's oversimplified and obviously much more complicated than this BUT this helps you understand WHY migraines occur

Nice explanation Will also explain why when I meditate and switch my brain off, the pain and aura goes down.... looking forward to your other videos ............ especially the one on how to stop it

Tee,
That's the theory I have on meditation! Unfortunately there is no way to measure it and hence it will never be recognised as an accepted treatment.
I'll do a video on jaw joint prblems next and how symptoms overlap with migraine. Expect it in about a week!

cool................... and I do not care if it cannot be tested lol - it works for me To the point where I try to do each day now, and twice a month I go to a deep mediation class...............
Re: Video - The way Triggers build
Well, I'll let you in onto another theory of mine:
Meditation has shown to cause an alteration to brain waves, and these brain waves can be triggered and enhanced by certain sound frequencies.
There is an app on the iPhone called Relax MP and it has these frequencies available top play, but you do need a GOOD set of headphones! If you use this in conjunction with meditation it may help further
No solid science here, just a theory!
like I said, I'm a geek.......

I can concur with that - hence why a lot of people hum or chant with it - I like the silence But I do often sit and listen to Paganini or Monks chant just for that reason - when I ran the big events, we would play Paganni during the registration, as a study in the USA showed that the layers of music are in the same pattern with your heart and can enhance learning.......... its a good one to listen to before studying

Oops, just asked you for the location of that video on another thread, Pav. I'm interested. As a chronic night time clencher this makes sense to me.

My dentist is looking into the NTI TSS device for me. Hopeful that it might help.

It's a great start. If its adjusted well it works 90% of the time
I've tweaked it slightly with what I've learnt

Re: Video - The way Triggers build
There's a dentist in my city who does the device. I'm going to go for a consultation, but can't afford it this month.
My dentist was told that the device isn't ideal for people with deviated jaws or jaw clicking. Any opinion on that, Pav?

Not true. That's a scare tactic taught by those who don't understand it fully. You just need to be careful with it (but that's always the case) and it's actually the best appliance when you have jaw joint problems. Some great literature has been reviewed on that
Re: Video - The way Triggers build
Ach. I'll go and see him and see what he says. I'll let you guys know when I'm going and ask for any tips that might help me decide, if that's ok.

Of course. FWIW he's probably saying that because that's what he's been taught. I use them ALL the time for jaw joint problems and they work a charm, you just need to make sure they're perfect
Just don't mention my name! I'll get into grief
