Update on my supplements
Just thought I'd do a quick update as to how I'm getting on with my latest experiments! This is what I am taking:
Vitamin B12 - sublingually, plus in a B complex with added intrinsic factor. I was taking 5000 iu sublingually, but I have cut this down to a quarter of a tablet now (ie 1250 iu).
I have been taking this since the summer. Benefits so far are that the occasional numbness and tingling in my right arm has gone completely. But the main benefit is that my circulation is so much better and I am no longer always freezing cold. I can't tell you how different and strange it feels - in many ways I feel a new person, just for not feeling so cold.
If only it would now help my head!
Calcium citrate: I started taking this just during my period a couple of months ago, but I have now taken it for an entire month straight. This definitely helps with the frequency of my migraines, and possibly the intensity too. I will be really interested to see if this helps my teeth over time, as they have become terrible within the last year - very see through, and I've had loads of fillings.
Magnesium malate: this isn't a change. I was already taking this, and am taking more magnesium than calcium. It's very difficult to know the best dose/balance, but I know my diet is higher in calcium than magnesium.
Vitamin B2 - I used to find this helpful years ago, then it stopped helping. So I suddenly wondered whether my increased B12 stores would help it work better, since vitamin B is supposed to work better in combination. I started taking 300 mg spread throughout the day for best absorption (I know 400 mg is recommended, but there is also some in the B complex, and I didn't want to go over 400 mg). I felt an almost immediate improvement in my migraines and also my TMJ (jaw) issues.
I have just had my period, and I took two triptans during it, and didn't suffer too greatly. I also had a better few days before my period than of late.
So... I'm kind of positive at the moment. Will update more soon!

Re: Update on my supplements
Thats great news - pleased they are working.
Are you planning to add any more in - ie Q10?
I plan to start my new experiment in January

Re: Update on my supplements
I used to take Q10. I found it helped with the migraines with aura, ie to reduce them, but no others. It does boost my energy though.
The problem I have is that a lot of things irritate my stomach. I'm not sure whether Q10 does or not (so I may try that again), but zinc really does. I so wish I could take it, as I think I have copper overload.
