The new C4 health series features Harvey, whose migraines were cured by a change in diet

This is a new TV show - The Food Hospital
Harvey is one of the youngest guinea pigs in an eight-part series, The Food Hospital, that puts people suffering from common but often debilitating conditions on a dietary regime. New scientific evidence is continually emerging that shows diet really can have a huge impact in preventing and treating the conditions we all worry about.
The Food Hospital starts tonight, 8pm, Channel 4

I did watch this, and the boy was recommended to cut out a few foods including chocolate and he was going to take a few supplements. I think one of which was Vit B2.
I remember thinking when watching it that these were all fairly obvious things, and if he got better with just those changes he would be very lucky indeed. But I think this just reflects my negative mood at the moment!

I saw it and was shocked that the mother had let him go on for 3 years without investigating diet, but yeah, also reflects my mood!!

ahhh I did not see it - but when I read the notes on it I did think is this not the obvious thing you would try straight away with kids...... I guess we know more than we think lol

It is on again tonight - will be insanely jealous if he is cured by these minor mods to his diet!

The thing is mig in kids tends to be food triggered - my son has abdominal with aura - and it was food triggered - and at the moment you could declare my son cured - however I am astute enough to know come puberty, they will no doubt come back.

Great point, Tee. My migraines as a child were mostly caused by milk. Even a teensy amount of whey protein or sodium caseinate in a food would give me a migraine within hours. The way I knew it was food triggered was if I vomited and the migraine got better. If I vomited and the migraine got worse or stayed the same, it was not food triggered. And despite the fact that I can now chug a glass of milk without getting a migraine (which I would never do - milk is so disgusting to me!), I am definitely not cured! In fact, my migraines are worse than they ever were when I was a kid. (Cue in a video of me looking all dreamy eyed at the memories of the days when migraines were so easily dodged!)
