Dr Shevel - won the classification change :)
I have just come across this -
https://youtu.be/YVK2tii8L0g
Its nice to hear this - as the last time I spoke to him he was off to the conference to try to change the classification - and he won
What I really like is that he talks about 'where the pain comes from' - ie either muscle, nerve or artery........... I still believe that one day they will stop classing us all in the same boat - this I believe is why we all respond differently with treatments......... think about it - if your pain comes from muscle why would a artery treatment help you?????
For those of you who have not heard of Dr Shevel - there is a very long thread on him and his work - including a couple of papers he sent us with pressure points - they are worth trying..........

Funnily enough, I was thinking about this the other day, that we are not all the same in the cause of our migraines. Mainly because, I strongly believe that circulation issues are some sort of a cause for mine; whereas this seems to have been discounted recently, ie that migraines are not caused by vascular changes etc.

I think most of my migraines are muscle and/or nerve based. I think my neck muscles tense up and this affects the nerves in the occipital region causing a migraine. Then, because I've got a migraine, I tense up so it becomes a cycle of pain with each part feeding off the other. The triptans very rarely work nowadays.

Muscles and nerves are directly related, as you need nerves to drive the muscles. And you get neurological feedback from the muscles when they fire!! Good on him for challenging the norm though. It'll be the start of an interesting time!!
Got an 8 year old with migraines I need to help now. Heartbreaking.

I know! Fortunately they respond very fast to treatment. This young lad isn't going to school at the moment and from what he described is getting HM
He's under the care of a neurologist but nothing is working for him yet. Starting treatment in 2 weeks and fingers crossed for the little lad that he responds!
