6 Days and Counting
After 6 weeks of almost constant daily migraines I am finally on day 6 of being migraine free. I think this is down to removing eggs or milk from my diet (not sure which is the culprit as I stopped them both on the same day and too scared to try either of them again as I am enjoying not having a migraine too much to try and find out!) Got to the stage where I was so worn out and depressed with it and after just 6 days have a new lease of life. Just wish I tried it 6 weeks ago. Still seeing the neurologist at the weekend at I still need to sort out the migraines that are hormone related, but to have them just a week a month rather than constantly will feel like a relief.
Am also trying out hynotherapy. Has anyone else tried this and what did they think of it or how did they find it?

WOW That is such good news - what prompted you to try the egg and milk removal? I have just seen a Kineslogist and have removed wheat and added some minerals..... so far so good
I am so pleased - its so nice to hear when people go from chronic
Not tried hynotherapy - Would like to know how you get on.

Ooh what great news! No wonder you're too scared to try adding the eggs or milk back! Fingers crossed for you.

Migraine can be a fickle brute. When its very active it only takes a small shove to set it off. That could be hormones, the weather, stress, food stuffs you name it. This is why it is so important to keep a migraine diary.
It helps you work out when to retry normal foods. There is a huge difference between being intolerant to a food when the thing gets you every single time migraine or no and when its the last stamp in the cascade that sets off yet another migarine during an active migraine phase.
Removing milk and eggs can be done BUT you must ensure your diet remains balanced. I would also talk with your neurologist to work out if this was simply a very bad phase in which even a glass of water or getting out of bed would have set off yet another migraine before opting for a total exclusion diet. If you do look at the Vegan Societies info on staying healthy and cooking without milk and eggs.
I know one thing unless I have an allergic reaction similar to the one I had from penicillian or I have an IgE result through the roof with medically documented symptoms of intolerance as my younger son has I am not excluding major food groups from my diet forever. When I do have a very active migraine phase its rare I can cope with more than dry white toast and rich tea biscuits as being horribly sick goes with the stupid migraine. Once the migraine settles down to a more low grade grumble food becomes possible again.
Do talk to your neurologist- its possible to have abodominal migraine that can mimic food intolerance without actually having a genuine food intolerance and lets face it a good balanced diet gives us a better chance of being healthy enough to cope when migraine goes bad.
