I really don't understand my head sometimes
About a few minutes after my last post on here today I suddenly went as stupid as anything, and couldn't make sense of words, along with the usual not being able to see properly. My aura lasted ages and I felt like I was far more stupid with it than usual, so it frightened me - thought I was having a stroke.
But also, I normally have my jaw pain on my left side, and my migraines on my right. Not so this time, I had (and still have) horrible jaw pain on my left side. It makes me realise how much everything is linked and most certainly not two separate complaints. I'd started to suspect that anyway.

HUG hun - sorry it was a 'hit her with a quick one' - they are not fun when they hit...
I am sure the jaw and migs are linked, you seem to get both pains at the same time.
Hope you are feeling a little better now xxx

Pretty certain its to do with the interaction of the centres of the brain that become active in migraine kicking the TMN in the face.
Its possible to have facial migraines where the pain of migraine is felt running through the TMN so it appears above your eye, across your check, your jaw and the back of your ear. Its horrible and hurts like !
Your not stupid- you have aura. I cannot read with that either and it feels like my brain and ability to think are trying to walk through treacle. Be kind to yourself when that happens and come back to what you where trying to do later when you can see and think a bit more. Hope the TMN soothes down.
Do you have any suggestions from your neurologist/doc on managing this pain?

Re: I really don't understand my head sometimes
Thanks - a bit better today, although my jaw is still vile.
Ironically, I think it was the new 'fantastic' treatment for my jaw that I'm getting on the NHS that caused this migraine. They fitted me with a new splint to wear at night which is nothing like my old one (which I paid for privately at great expense). Every time I even try to use it, it makes it worse, and after yesterday, there is no way they can persuade me to try it again.
There seems to be so little they can do for the jaw.
