Hi Im new and have a mostly permanent sight problem
Hi not sure if I have posted this already as I lost what I was typing, when i am concentrating on anything my sight fades, typing general house stuff, I have been diagnosed with migraine with complications, I cant type any thing more right now as I have read too much of this forum so will do it in stages, but any answers would be good, anyone have the same? feel so desperate at times, have other symptoms initially head pain from hell, now fatigue pains in muscles jerks spasms. Losing my job is likely. Feel good to know other people are out there who will understand.
Thanks
Kitt

I'm convinced that migraines with complications simply means that the doctors can't find a standard variant of migraine that your symptoms can fit neatly into. In my own case, my symptom have been diagnosed as atypical or complex. In fact one neurologist refused to accept some of the symptoms I described, even though most were able to be verified by independent witnesses.
I think that more migraineurs than the medical profession care to admit don't nicely fit into the half dozen or so migraine classifications.

Hi there, sorry to hear about how you are feeling. I also have "complex" migraines with neurological symptoms. I also have spasms and jerkiness and all other kinds of stuff. I agree with piwakawaka, it's definitely not easy to categorise us as we don't always fit so nicely into little boxes that have definitive answers or ways to fully support chronic migraineurs. I kinda take it migraine by migraine as at the moment no two are exactly the same for me from start to end, whenever that is!!!! To be honest with you, I feel as if I'd rather have the pain than the constant auras that I have had for weeks and months at a time. Kinda puts my life on hold when those happen but trying to get on with it as best I can. I'm the only one at the moment working in my household and can't afford to leave. Anyway, enough of me blabbering, my well wishes go out to each and every one of you.

Hi Kitt,
I can understand about the sight. I loose my sight before, durning, and sometimes after a migraine. But the worst is between. I can put the knife down on the counter and take whole mins looking for it again. I pat my hands around like the blind looking for the hair brush! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

I agree! Visual problems are frustrating. For me, objects frequently disappear before and during a migraine. It's almost as if the objects have been carefully camouflaged by colouring them exactly the same as the background they are on. Even if I know precisely where it is, I often have to move my head to the left or right to grab a glimpse of an object. If I don't know its exact location, I to often have to rely on touch.

I have to set my house in a very special way so that when I have a "blind" episode I can get around without falling on my face! LOL! The real scarry part is driving down the highway when you start to black out. When i have to travel any real distance now, I try to go late at night when no one is on the road, have emergency money for hotels, emergency pain pills, and speed dial for the people I will travel to see to check in with progress on the trip. sometimes it makes me feel like a kid taking mom's car, but its better safe than sorry. words of experience.

Re: Hi Im new and have a mostly permanent sight problem
One thing I miss is the freedom to drive. I'm not willing to drive alone to any destination more than 30 minutes away. And even then only if I'm feeling very good. Any other time I insist there's someone else in the car just in case they need to take over the driving. My wife doesn't like driving distances, and prefers that I drive whenever possible. So visiting friends and family any distance from home is now a rarity.
