Any advise for me I am new to this Migraine thing.
Ok I had Migraines when I was in high School, but now at 30 and since I had a bad migraine in July I have had a none stop headache and now having 2-3 migraines a week. I was on topmax, Forcent and Phengreen for the nausea which I am all the time and this helps. I asked for a refill for my phengreen and my pcp wont fill it I see him tomorrow I have a feeling he thinks I am crazy. I am tired of headaches I start a new medication tomorrow called trigan I think sorry about the spelling. I just want to not have a headache and not feel nausea my neurologist has not done ct scan or mri. Any advise would help. Thank you so much.

Drugs can be prescribed to stop a migraine that is underway or to prevent a migraine from occurring. Topomax is taken every day to prevent migraine. Often you must take these preventative drugs for one, two, or three months before you can know if they'll help. I'm not familiar with Trigan. But, unfortunately, it can take several trials of drugs before you find one that helps you.
Are you seeing a primary care physician or a neurologist for the headaches? Is your doctor a headache specialist? It is important to see someone who likes to treat headaches and migraine - because they are more likely to understand the difficulties you are experiencing.
