Severe headaches tied to suicide attempts
March 23, 2012
People with severe headaches, whether migraines or not, may be more likely to attempt suicide, a new study suggests.
The findings don't prove that headaches caused the suicide attempts, but a number of studies over the years have found that people with migraines tend to have a higher suicide rate than those without the problem.
But it has not been clear whether it's related specifically to the "biology of migraines," said Naomi Breslau of Michigan State University in East Lansing, who led the new study.

Sad but true!!
The desperation that comes with chronic migraines is almost inevitable for some

Yeah, I have been there... many times! For me, the worst time is when I am exiting a cycle of few migraines into a cycle of lots. This has happened many times over the years. I get into a cycle of 1-2 migraines a month and think that life is marvelous, then they come back at 10-20/month and I seriously think that ending it all would be easiest. Therapy and a wonderful support system are my saviors!

I've never tried to end my life but I can see how it can happen. life with persistent severe migraine is miserable. I've had them for 30 years and have only had treatment for six months. I've been depressed on and off for twenty years too, the two are very likely to be linked, life can be pretty gloomy.
I'm like you, Nekoha, 10+ migraines per month and I would kill my own mother to make them end.
