Nerve Decompression Surgery for Chronic Daily Headache
Has anyone had experience with nerve decompression surgery for chronic daily headache?
I've been learning about it online. As far as I can find it is available in only a limited number of places in the U.S.
Here are links describing it:

Re: Nerve Decompression Surgery for Chronic Daily Headache
I spoke to my consultant re this in the UK - we have one doc who is pushing it privately - and my doc said it was too early yet and that the doc in question had been invited a number of times to show his research data and he has not done so. He also said he had had a number of people come to him who had had the surgery and where now in a worse place - and that he was having problems helping them as the 'normal' routes where not responding...... he told me to keep it in mind for a few years and watch what happens....
Re: Nerve Decompression Surgery for Chronic Daily Headache
I just read an article that said that most spine surgeries resulted in making people worse than they were before the surgery. I would be extremely cautious about letting anyone mess with your spine.
I too have thought of nerve decompression surgery. I have seen articles where the disc is "reinflated" and the patient gets relief. I would really love for this to be perfected because the discs in my neck are almost non-existent. I am almost 2 inches shorter than I used to be in my 20's due to disc compression all over my spine. I'm sure this has to be contributing to the migraines.
I do see a chiropractor and that gives some relief for a short period of time. Sometimes an adjustment can actually stop a migraine completely including putting an end to the nausea & vomitting.
Bottom line, see a chiropractor before you go under the knife.
