Migraine Research Foundation Announces Expanded List of Children’s Headache Centers
The Migraine Research Foundation (MRF) has announced the latest resource available on its Web site: a newly expanded list of children’s headache centers, available at www.migraineresearchfoundation.org.
Although 10% of all school-age children experience migraine, they often are undiagnosed and untreated. The MRF list is organized by state and includes the ages of patients that doctors will see to assist parents and others in identifying and locating help for children with migraine.
MRF’s new children’s headache center list is part of its “For Our Children” initiative, launched to raise funds to move the science of childhood migraine forward and to provide information and resources to combat the disruptive effects of migraine disease on children and their families. MRF raises money to award research grants for work in innovative areas that hold promise for unlocking the mysteries of migraine. Since 2007, 24 grants have been awarded and 11 have been completed. All operating costs are underwritten, so all money raised goes directly to fund research.
More information on the children’s headache centers, migraine disease and the work of the MRF, is available at www.migraineresearchfoundation.org.
