Finishing School
This success story isn't directly about my migraine disorder. It is a success despite migraine. This week I received my diploma. I just finished my masters degree this summer. It was a long process - I could have done it more efficiently, more quickly had I not been dealing with migraines and daily headache. But I managed it nonetheless. I took out a student loan and began my studies in the fall of 2008 and was also working part time as a graduate assistant. Then in December 2010 I began a full time job. This is so important to me after a divorce from a marriage of 15 years that was initiated by my husband in Dec 04. But he ran out of money to finish what he started, and so I had to finalize it. It was done in 06 (I was in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and it drew out the process - my attorney and I lost track of each other). Long story short: This diploma symbolizes my ability to take care of my life. At least now I have some sort of insurance (as sorry as it is - it is still insurance) and financial stability. Let's just hope the migraines don't interfere with my ability to perform successfully at my job. Hey - but that is another story. Despite the migraines I have achieved some success.
Re: Finishing School
