Well, I'm in my second week of a migraine that just won't let up. I do have a chronic daily headache - but this a real long-lasting migraine. Right now it feels like a hot poker is pushing its way through my cheek bone. I'm starting a medrol dose pack tomorrow. My GP was kind enough to call in a prescription -- since I refuse to see that neurologist who wears cologne again. I'm home from work and about to use ice and heat.

When I was at the drug store I was having a conversation with pharmacist about whether or not I could take a Keterolac injection tonight before I start the Medrol tomorrow - because the pain is so severe. I can't. However, the woman standing in line behind me must have overheard and maybe saw how shaken I was. She told me she was so sorry I was in so much pain. She told me she understood that it made both functioning and resting so difficult. I was so touched - here was this total stranger sympathizing. I nearly started crying on the spot. I thanked her and told her how much I appreciated her comments - that it really meant something to me. We really do have the power to make someone's day better with small kindnesses.

I made an appointment last week with a neurologist and specialist at a headache clinic in Houston, Texas. She lists some diagnostic procedures and treatments that were not offered to me by the neurologists and headache specialists I've seen so far. Houston is a 3 to 4 hour drive - so I hope the appointment will be fruitful. If her bookings are any indication, she should be good. The earliest appointment I could get is July 24th.

Fingers crossed.

I really do appreciate this forum. I'm thankful you are all here.

Now off to ice my face and rest in a hot tub.
