4 and a 1/2 years now with chronic migrains never below an 8 score 24/7 Crying or Very sad
I know that doesn't sound very long for some people and my heart does go out to you all but I am finding things really hard now. I have a beautiful little girl who is now 4 and a wonderful partner but I can't get out of this low feeling. Still waiting to hear any news from the pct for my ONS application and as the hospital already messed that up twice I'm not sure where I stand. I feel completely in the dark at the mo with no doctors returning my calls with any of my test results Mad I don't want to go to my gp because I think if he see's how emotional I am he'll just put me on anti depressants.
I took my little girl to the park today and only lasted 10 minutes before I had to call my mum to pick us up. Wow do I feel like I'm letting my daughter down.
I just want my life back and I believe if have the ONS that will happen. Is that so much to ask? If any one has any pick me up ideas that wont do me in I would be deeply, deeply grateful.
xx

Oh sweetie - I am truly so sorry - I was like this for 3 years and know where you are coming from - life just stops....

I think you should go see your GP and pour your heart out -maybe he can give the consultants and hospital a kick for you - also do not think you have failed if you have to go down the antidepressants route - you need something to help you get through NOW while you wait for the ONSI funding to come through. Plus this group of drugs can help with migraines in some people - you can always come off them in the future. Also ask the doctor to run some bloods to check your mineral levels. A lot of people with migraine at this level have a depletion in one or more minerals and if found that is easy to fix Smile

Have you tried any alternative stuff? I find Indian head massage helps, as does meditation and lots and lots of sleep.

I really do feel for you - xx

Cheers Tee x
At the mo I'm on pregabalin as, and I quote from Dr S "Can't find a mediaction that will work on you".
I have tried all sorts of alternative therapies. Massage, crystals, religious heeling (ok that one had me and my sister in stiches, I think the priest was high). Sleep would be a great gift right now. I average on between 2-4 hours of sleep but I think my body is used to that now.
I dont know why I feel so strongly about the anti de's, it's a really hard feeling to explain, kinda like last hope and don't want to go there yet. I dunno.

You sound like me 2 years ago...I do understand how you feel but don't rule out the anti depress..I never slept and mirtazapine was the only thing that got me through in the end.

Although my situation hasn't changed and is 24/7 high pain like yourself I am coping much better now, and doing more than I have for years. I have no treatment options left BUT I do feel better about life, it is possible to come out the other end of this no matter how bleak things seem.

If you could get something to get you through the night it can help lower the pain a bit and make the difference between existing and actually enjoying elements of your life and family again.

Don't rule out trying a different type of anti dep there are so many to try and some will suit you better than others.

I hope things improve soon.

A high vicar sounds fun Very Happy

But I agree with Jane - getting the sleep sorted would be a major step forward. When I had my last very big HM I forgot how to sleep -hard to explain, I would fall asleep but then woke up about 20+ times in a night - I was a walking zombie and it was and anti d that sorted that out for me. But I understand your reluctance, I have been offered them a number of times over the years for migraine management, and turned them all down, as I was worried about addiction - but I did give it a go and now know you can get out of addiction (if it happens) and to be honest the codine was much worse.

Why not just go and talk to him - may be a sleeping tablet might be more appropriate - but I am sure if the sleep improves it would be a step forward...
