Hi All
Don't know if any of you have had problems with forumotion forums the past couple of days, but there has been a lot of problems with it, bugs getting on their servers, and because of that my Anti-virus Kasperkey wouldn't let me on here at all, only way today was to over-ride the secure "http" on kasperkey.
Well today is the longest day of the year, and was up at 4 this morning as my dogs were running riot and wanted to play, never done that before, but so funny, must be an animal thing being the longest day....lol
Had a good few days bit tired and head fuzzy but nothing too bad, but doing as I'm told by the docs, rest rest and more rest.
And the dogs are at it again, running in and out the garden.
Anyway off for a doze in a mo, being up early is catching up with me now.
Graham

You've got to love dogs haven't you, they are endlessly enthusiastic. Mine however has to be woken up in the morning and looks at with me with disdain and then goes back to sleep. I think she is in her teenager stage of life!
Good lock with the rest rest and more rest, it should be in theory the easiest thing to do, but is actually incredibly difficult! lol

Re: Tuesday 21st June 2011
I do miss a dog - my hubby just will not have one - we have a cat, but they just blink and look at you lol
It sad to think tomorrow the days start to get shorter and we have not had any sun yet.
I had a really good day yesterday and had my first non aura free day in 5 yrs. I felt almost normal Things are back today, but on a scale 3. But I am hopeful.
Hope you have had a very restful day

So glad you managed an aura free day, only trouble is it can give you a sense of how things should be, so its more of a disappointment to go back to. But that's been the eternal pessimist. lol. I have been aura free all day but with pain quite bad, which I cope better with, but i am starting to feel sick and shaky again. joy oh joy. Just another 4 hours of work to get through tonight!

Oh poppet - do you have to go in?
I know what you mean, though - its so nice to see straight and feel normal, comes as a bit of 'oh bugger' moment when it comes back. But at least I know it is possible - one day at a time
Hope your does not progress too much x

Onandoffagain just explain to the dogs you need rest it works on ours!! not! The puppy just leaps on me and licks me and sends things flying!!
Any how exited I have found a way to read... I got a Kindle!!!
Paul got it for me I can change the size if the letters..not that im blind but it reduces the amount of words and gaps on the page so it makes it less stressful to read it. There is no glare and no flicker I love it and have a book to read and almost halfway through already....I havent read hardly anything since I got HM and used to read a book nearly every 3 days I miss them so much. So maybe I can have something back now.
If you have trouble with written words really do give them a go ...its not just the words but the gaps that faze me I think but changing them to make them bigger lessens the strain.
I just cant explain how happy I am to be able to read something again.... even downloaded the Mail on it and had a read of that as well but jumbled my brain a bit flicking through the articles!

Re: Tuesday 21st June 2011
Wow that sounds great. I have notices since my big attack in May I haven't read. I love reading and love Terry Pratchett books, I normally finish one in 3 days. Since the attack I have tried to read and have wanted to read but I cant seem to take it in. I give up after the first page. Its not that I cant read the words or see the words but they dont sink in t my head. Make sense??? Oh how i love to write these weird descriptions of my less than perfect brain. Any how, what i am trying to say is that I never considered the fact that my HM has affected my ability to read and comprehend what i am reading. So thank you for sharing that, I had a lightbulb moment!! xxx

Yup I got a kindle for Christmas....it never leaves my side..same as you SHeena I really missed reading and I am reading everyday again now with no problems.
Kindles are really easy on the eye..have read ALL the Pratchett books I could get my hands on to down load...there's an incentive for you On and Off LMAO.
I have hundreds of free books on there now and it's great with the kids when your out and about because I have a childrens selection including R Dahl...who they are loving. So in my bag my Kindle library goes and any awkward moments can be averted by me reading the kids a story.
Sorry I cannot say how much I love this thing...glad someone else with Migs finds it useful too.

Ok, I'm sold. I will raid the piggy bank!
Also on an entirely separate note, I have a client who cannot use her hands who loves reading but cant turn the pages of a book. Can a kindle page be turned using a touch stick? i.e if she uses her mouth to hold stick could she turn the pages? x

To be honest I still can't get over the fact I can read on this thing...I thought it was a fluke. Before I was having trouble not just with screens but everything written on paper.
The Kindle seems so soothing..like sunglasses in book form (sounds mad I know).
Maybe we should write to Amazon and extol it's virtues more..need to ponder on that one.

It has 4 buttons on each side..so works left or right handed. Top one turns page back, bottom moves pages forward...basically you can read one handed easily. If the touch stick is an instrument to physically press the buttons then 'yes'. I find it much easier to hold too with my dodgy grip..and I have a cover for it which will unfold in to a 'stand' so you can prop it on a table etc....that was a good accessory purchase which is useful to people with manual dexterity issues.
I loved the physicality of books and was unsure about 'giving up the book feel' but I haven't missed it at all..just glad to be reading again.
It's better than telly anyday.

Re: Tuesday 21st June 2011
The more I look at the kindle its the space and line issue im sure of it. There is no glare! on a sheet of paper but its the fact I can reduce the amount of WORDS Ie GAPS to the page that make the difference...odd... I think writing to Kindle is a great idea as its another boost to Migraine sufferers.

Oh how interesting! My husband has just got one, but I assumed I'd find it harder to read rather than easier. Might have to have a go on it!
