I am just beginning to recognize certain triggers light sensitivity is a main factor as is sound, when a migraine is on its way and light or sound is heightened to the point i want to hide away.
My menstrual cycle another trigger is when i am at my worst, i get numbness on my right side, weird feelings of cold and muscle spasms.

Since my bad attack in Dec I have stayed away from alcohol ( damn i miss a glass of red)

Perfumes/hairsprays are so bad, i had to tell my MIL to leave the house one day as she had just been to hairdresser pfft she didnt take it to kindly but ho hum im not getting ill for that.

I am sure over time some other weird and wonderful triggers will arise, but i am ready for them Smile

It's extremes I guess..extreme changes in weather, extreme heat/cold or fluctuations in humidity and pressure. I can feel a storm moving closer before there are any normal indications to other people. Storms feel cold in my head and they smell cold too ..I know sounds odd.

Half woman, half dog... Laughing

Am still trying to work out a range in miles then I can apply to the met office as their severe weather warning person.

This week the weather has made me ill, the dark glasses are back on even inside, its heavy and oppresive and we need a storm to clear the air and I am getting bouts of tinitus at night as well. Has anyone found a cloud to rest there head on at night instead of these lumps of iron they call pillows?

my triggers so far identified... stress! (try avoiding that one) flashing lights i.e strobe lights, flickering light bulbs, white lines on the road going past quickly, flickering computer screens, anything that moves very quickly ( best buy a tortoise and stare at it all day) lol
I get the weather thing to, thunderstorms buzz in my head when they are brewing.

Not weird at all, I can relate to a lot of what you have all written. Just read my last post about My H M and you will learn about weird. I am still certain that the earthquake had ruled this set of HMs for me. Have a good night it is off to bed for me, but thanks for all your in put. I feel so much better about the world, knowing there is a reason behind them darn things. Just wish we could say enough now and that would be it. Jerri

Just had to share that yesterday when I was getting my supplements I was relating that I had been having these migraines since the earthquake. The lady helping me stopped and with mouth open just stared at me. "You know my mom just told me the same things this morning." Later I was talking to another person who was telling me he had a migraine. I commented that I felt for him as I had been on a month long spree myself. "A month long" he asked? I thought maybe he did not believe me. But when I shook my head he said, "Me too, ever since that darn earthquake." I had not told people about this earlier because I thought for sure they would end up putting me away. Now I am not so sure.

Interesting - a lot of people can tell when a storm is coming, sowhy not an earthquake ....

You might find these of interest...

Abstract
In two surveys of headaches it was noted that their incidence had increased significantly within 48 h prior to earthquakes from an incidence of 17% to 58% in the first survey using correlated samples and from 20.4% to 44% in the second survey using independent samples. It is suggested that an increase in positive air ions from rock compression may trigger head pain via a decrease in brain levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin. The findings are presented as preliminary, with the hope of generating further research efforts in areas more prone to earthquakes.

Wow thanks for sharing. Helps me know I am not losing all my marbles,. Can't confirm what happened to the missing few however. LOL.

You're the best Tee.

FYI my computer has been down. Tried doing a new thread on my story and what my new neurologist told me yesterday and after lots of hen pecking on my iPad lost the whole thing while editing it before hitting the send bottom. Will retry when computer come later. It was a good visit. Yeah!! Jerri

Hmmmm. I never thought of an earthquake being a trigger, but why not? Everything else seems to be. Smells are my #2 trigger. Stress is #1. My husband calls me a bloodhound. I have vetoed everything from cleaning sprays to his shampoos, laundry soaps, deodorants, candles, you name it. There is 1 perfume I can wear (sometimes) with out getting a migraine. I have found no cologne that he can wear. My MIL wears some horrible stuff that is like torture. My mom (also a migraineur) always uses some super-flowery room scents that kill me. I don't know how she can stand it. I wish I could just turn off my sense of smell all together. I would be ok with that.

LOL Akron - I am EXACTLY the same - have a look at this thread:

https://migrainetalk.forumotion.co.uk/t362p45-questionable-chemicals-we-put-on-our-bodies-via-cleaning-products-cosmetics-and-personal-care-products?highlight=chemicals

But I have now removed all chemicals from the house and have to say my family are now removing stuff too Smile I basically walk out a room if the smell is too strong, so they have finally work out I am not going to entertain stuff that smells - I removed a smelly thing from my mum car last week - I refused to get in the car until she locked it in the boot lol

I have found one fragrance / deodorant for hubby

http://www.naturisimo.com/products.cfm?id=1349&type=Bodycare&men=1

It smells of light lemons and I am fine with it Smile

One thing which still amazes me is that the fragrance indusrty is not regulated, so they can put whatever they like in their stuff Scream and the inventor of Youth Dew should be shot!!!!! Smile
