hmmmm we brought the kittens home yesterday Smile But I forgot about the litter sand - yep you guessed tight chest and big lips this morning Sad Do they make a chemical / un scented version I wonder????

On a plus note Smile - I nominated my long suffering husband for the Migraine Heroes Carer Award - and he just got a letter inviting us to a dinner - as he has been short listed Smile He hates the term carer - but you would not believe the stuff this man has had to put up with over the past 5 years and without him I would not have the family I have today Smile

Oh great news on your husband. Smile Not so good about the kitten litter sand. What about a paper-based litter?

I use Megazorb for rabbit litter, it might be worth looking at for cats although you may need to get them gradually used to a different litter.

Is that easy to get hold of? Ie will a good pet store stock it?

They have only had this one for one day - so hopefully will not be a problem.

I use Megazorb too - I get it from a farm shop. You should be able to find stockists here:

A paper cat litter I've heard of is Smart Cat:

Here in the US, there is a litter called Feline Pine. It is made from pine tree pulp. I don't know if it is available over there, though. I also read an article a couple of years ago about using shredded paper as a litter. A lot of people have paper shredders now to shred bank statements, etc, and I guess some are using the paper as a cat litter. I would think that you would have to change it more frequently than the sand kind that you can scoop the waste out of. Fortunately, my daughter is in charge of our cat box.

Thanks for the link - I have found a stockiest in Faversham which is about 15 mins away - so we will have a drive over on Monday - just picked up a paper version from Tesco - but that smells a bit strong too. Thankfully hubby is in charge of the tray Smile I just have to put up with the smell lol
