Very low brain Alpha waves Empty Very low brain Alpha waves

Today I attended my second visit to a clinical psychologist for pain management. I was wired up similar to an EEG, but with fewer electrodes. After all the testing was done, he spent some time explaining the results. One aspect was that the brain alpha waves were less than a third of the lowest end of the normal range. Also there was almost no difference between the Eyes Open (EO) and Eyes Closed (EC) readings. Apparently Alpha waves should be much higher with the eyes closed.

I asked him whether the Epilim (Sodium Valproate) I was taking could affect the Alpha waves. He said they could, but only to a minor degree. Over the last few weeks, I have felt that a brain fog has been slowly decending down on me, and I'm sure it's caused by the Epilim. Tomorrow I ramp up to 800 mg daily, and if the fog gets much thicker, I don't think I will be safe to drive.

Getting back to the Alpha waves, I wonder if the same result showed up on the EEG I had a few months back. I'm still waiting for an appointment for the follow up with the neurologist. My new clinical psychologist believes there that my migraines are related to very low Alpha waves. I know alpha waves induce a calmness, relaxation and increased mental focus. and one can be trained to control them. Meditation is one way of doing this, as is biofeedback. Alpha wave can also be induced electrically. Has anyone had any Alpha wave therapy and what was he outcome?
